Weddings

Getting married is one of the most important decisions we may make in life. A wedding marks a couple’s commitment to one another, begins a whole new chapter in their life together, and has an impact on your whole circle of family and friends. A wedding service can be as uniquely personal, as simple, as spiritual, as intimate, as reflective, and as lively and fun as you want it to be.

At St Saviour’s Church we are pleased to hold wedding services and would be happy to help you with planning and arranging your wedding ceremony. To find out if you are legally entitled to get married at St Saviour’s Church, have a look at the ‘Finding a church’ page on the ‘Your Church Wedding’ website. You can check if you live within the parish by entering your postcode. If not, you can check if you meet one of the other qualifying connections.

For many people, church just feels like the right place to get married. We can provide you with time and space to think about the promises you will be taking and the impact they will have on your lives. Ask about having a marriage discussion if you are interested in thinking about and preparing for marriage and we’ll support you as you set out to building a lasting marriage.

So, if you would like to consider getting married at St Saviour’s Church, please contact us at our church office and we will be pleased to help you with your plans for this happy occasion.

To find out more about getting married in church, visit the Church of England’s website Your Church Wedding for lots of information about how to plan your wedding ceremony and thoughts about marriage itself. It covers lots of topics, from suitable readings to music, from legal requirements to vows, from wedding preparation to marriage preparation, the tough times and the good times.
