Comfort Food is such an expression of God’s love says Lizzy Potter
‘Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.’ 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
I will never forget the time when a friend unexpectedly left a casserole on our doorstep, with a note saying she’d made too much and hoped we might enjoy, or when a friend knocked on the door holding a cake she’d made simply to bless our family. Food made as an expression of love always tastes the best, in my experience! And this is exactly what the Comfort Food ministry is about – an expression of love, God’s love and comfort to ‘those in any trouble’. This year we’ve had the privilege of offering meals to a few members of the church family in times of need and as always I’m so thankful to those who have cooked and delivered food.
If you enjoy cooking and would like to get involved with Comfort Food, please do come and have a chat with me, I’d love to tell you more!
