TDT says ‘Thank you’

12th December 2017 by office_team

But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ 2 Corinthians 12 verse 9

It’s hard to believe, but as I write this it is nearly 10 years ago that I was beginning to plan my first visit to Uganda with a Bournemouth Deanery team. Little did I know that God had a plan which would bring me to serve with TDT (Teso Development Trust) and ignite a passion for mission that has stayed with me ever since.

For over 30 years TDT has stood with the people of this poor part of Uganda, joined by its partners both in the country and in the UK. What a blessing that in Bournemouth our churches are linked with exactly the same region. Your support at St Saviour’s has been such an encouragement and literally a life-saver. Thank you all!

This year has seen a real struggle, with famine affecting many households. So often the issues of the day can overwhelm and feelings of weakness and helplessness take over. This is where our faithful God steps in. So often, over the years, it has been evident that God works through us, if we let Him. Not only is transformation seen but faith is strengthened. Even in adversity, words are heard from God’s people, not of anger and bitterness,  but of patience, understanding and hope. People come and go, but the mission stays the same just as our God stays the same. His love is unchanging.

TDT are welcoming a new administrator, Carmel Dipple, who has worked with Tearfund. Carmel’s first assignment is to work on the next newsletter, so please look out for that! I am hoping to join Carmel and the visiting team to Uganda next summer to visit our projects and meet friends, old and new and, of course, to introduce Carmel to everyone. With God’s grace and your support, I pray that the work of TDT will continue into the future.
