It’s summertime and we all like to take life easier – at least that’s the plan! We chill out, relax on the beach, take time off with family and friends, and bring out the ice cream. Here at St Saviour’s we love all that, and just the ‘joy of being’ that comes on sunny days! So when it comes to church, we like our Summer Services to be more relaxed – in keeping with our summer mood – while still packing in a whole lot of fun and faith into the mix! The services are all family-friendly, with activities for the children to join in, and offer us all a chance to take a spiritual ‘breather’ with some faith-building talks and times of drawing close to God in worship.
This year our talk series is all about Old Testament People: Samuel, David, Joseph, Esther and Solomon – basically some of the ‘big names’ in the Bible ‘hall of fame’. If we want to learn about living, it’s a great idea to live and learn from some of the ‘greats’ who have gone before us, and we’ll be finding out all about their stories and what they have to teach us about faith.
So if you feel in need of some spiritual refreshment, come and ‘take a breather’ at our Summer Services – a change may be as good as a rest! Flip-flops and their wearers are all welcome!
‘Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for.’ Hebrews 11 verses 1-2
Please note: in keeping with the idea of relaxing over summer, there will be no evening services from 30 July, but they will restart on 3 September with a service of informal worship at 6pm.
