New appointment:
We are delighted to be able to announce that Daniela Eisenträger will be taking up the position of lay minister for the Parish of Holdenhurst from 1 September. Daniela has been serving at St Saviour’s and St Christopher’s during the last 12 months whilst completing her degree at Moorlands. Daniela obtained a rare 1st Class Honours and I can confirm that she was an excellent placement student. This is a temporary appointment since Daniela is exploring the possibility of ordination in the near future, but we look forward to Daniela serving in the Holdenhurst Parish in the year ahead (although I expect she will make her way across to St Saviour’s from time to time).
New sermon series:
The book known as 2 Corinthians is one of the fourteen New Testament letters that have traditionally been attributed to Paul. Most scholars agree that 2 Corinthians is a combination of several letters written by Paul to the community of Christian believers in the Greek city of Corinth. Whilst the first letter to the Corinthians Paul is clearly trying to address specific problems in the Corinthian church, this second letter is more about comforting the church members in the midst of suffering and includes the great verse ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness’. (2 Corinthians 12 verse 9)
