Love and encouragement

4th April 2017 by office_team

‘Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you will love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples – when they see the love you have for each other.’ (John 13:35 The Message)

‘So encourage each other and build each other up …'(1 Thess 5:11 NLT)

Love and encouragement through prayer, conversation and practical support lie at the heart of the pastoral care we offer to each other within St Saviour’s Church. We thrive as a church to follow the example of Jesus and are guided as we look to Scripture (see above).

Pastoral care is happening within so many areas of church life at St Saviour’s. It is wonderful to see God at work, as His love and caring compassion is shared. One just needs to pause and look around the church on a Sunday morning or in the Link on a weekday morning to see folks looking out for each other, listening to each other, helping, praying and encouraging each other through the ups and downs of daily life.

Pastoral care can be accessed through the many groups that meet during the week – home groups, Diamond Times, Craft Connections, Wednesday’s Linked Ladies, Ladies’ Prayer Breakfast, Linked Extra, Men’s breakfast, Comfort Food … to name but a few. The leaders of all these groups are supported and encouraged as they are effectively involved in pastoral care.

If anyone is in need of any pastoral care/assistance, this can be accessed by approaching Andy McPherson, contacting the church office or speaking to one of the Pastoral Care Team. Pastoral visits can be arranged.

We are truly blessed to be in such a caring church. God has been so good to us as a church, planting among us so many with a real heart for pastoral care. Many can give testimony to this, including myself – being  ‘carried’ through challenging times by the love of God shown through  pastoral folks.

We thank the Lord for his love and provision.
