As many of you probably know, M&Ms is our mid-week club for those in school years 3 – 6, running on a Tuesday evening from 6.15pm to 7.30pm. It is a busy programme, with plenty of active games and challenges, together with a time to look at a Bible story or passage to consider its meaning and how it applies to our lives today.
For several years now, the group has been fairly small, from three to eight children. We have adapted the programme as numbers have gone up and down, taking advantage of the smaller numbers. We are thankful for the way God blessed this small group and we saw children growing in their faith and understanding.
However, over the last term or so, we have seen God answer our prayers for more children in the group. We now have 20 or so coming along regularly – most of them boys. This has changed the group dynamics quite considerably!! So we find ourselves once again looking at the programme, assessing where the children are in their journey of faith and understanding, so that we can put together an evening not just of fun and games, but one that encourages them to think on God and what they believe. Our prayer is that we will see God at work in the lives of this group too!
We have just finished a series on looking at the life of Moses, (the picture shows our poster which can be found in the hall) using to begin with sections from the Prince of Egypt DVD, then Powerpoints and acting out the story. The group really enjoyed this and asked many questions each week! We have left the Israelites wandering in the desert after refusing to enter the Promised Land – we shall probably return to them later in the year, joining them as they follow Joshua across the River Jordan and beyond!
All children in years 3 – 6 are welcome to join us. So, parents, if you have children of that age, why not bring them along to join in the fun!!
