It continues to be a pleasure and a privilege to be part of Comfort Food. It’s a simple formula … delicious meals are lovingly prepared and delivered to members of our church family during particular times of need.
In recent conversations about the ministry with friends, both in and outside of St Saviour’s, the same thought seems to keep popping up, so I’ll share it. The Comfort Food ministry is not only about a willingness to serve; it wouldn’t work without a willingness to receive! I am always so pleased when others tell me what a blessing it is to serve God and the church family by cooking meals – not a burden, as the recipient might sometimes worry, but a source of great joy! Sometimes, I think, accepting help can give others the gift of being able to take action and show Jesus’ love to you. Which is what Comfort Food is all about.
