Gap-year volunteer update

6th December 2016 by office_team

Hi, I’m Frankie – for those of you that don’t know, I am the volunteer gap-year student this year!

Everyone has been extremely welcoming and that has made such a big difference to the year as there are a lot of changes to adjust to and I don’t find change particularly easy; so thank you.

So far I have been involved in many groups and gained lots of experience. At Diamond Times I have learnt how to play Rummikub, which I thoroughly enjoy and very much look forward to.

When Diamond Times isn’t on, I help out with the mothers and toddlers group. I particularly like the songs at the end as well as joining in with the crafts, which I am always very excited to show Nathan what I have made!

On Wednesday I help out at Linked Ladies by looking after and playing with any children that are there.

Similarly I am a part of the youth group called Furnace in the evening, with whom I get on very well with due to my natural competitiveness which comes apparent when doing our

Youth Olympics and whilst playing dodgeball with them.

Moreover I try my best to help out with the admin side of church, which enables my organisation skills to be used.

Thank you to all those who were able to come and support me at the quiz on Saturday!  It was very much appreciated.

I am thoroughly enjoying the year so far even, though it has been such a big change to what I have been used to.

Frankie Bendell
